You can configure the number of maximum wrong password attempt before the SQL User is locked out.
Open the Local Security Policy at the SQL Server. Select 'Account lockout threshold' and set the desired number of attempts.
You can define the lockout duration.
or the Counter reset duration.
The SQL User locked out will display on the Status tab in SQL User properties. Uncheck 'Login is locked out' to resume logon.
